To celebrate, we’re hosting a special “Caring is a Work of Heart” culinary event, and invite you to join us for a delicious meal and to learn about the benefits our residents receive from our nutritional strategy. Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 18th, from 10:00am - 11:30am, when Chef Jane Annin offers you the chance to experience the great flavor and warm feeling of a delicious meal with our culinary team.
Jane Annin has been serving our residents Hickory Villa delicious, healthy meals since 2002. She started as a part-time cook, and in September of 2005 was promoted to Culinary Services Director. She now has 23 years of experience working in senior living communities.
Jane grew to love cooking when she was just a child. Both of her grandmothers were wonderful cooks and bakers, and she remembers helping one of them often in the kitchen and her huge garden.
As an example of why she feels blessed to be a member of the Hickory Villa team, Jane says, “A resident moved in whose health was failing, so her family added hospice care. It wasn’t long after she moved in that she began coming to the dining room for meals. This gave her the opportunity to socialize with other residents and have balanced meals. She improved significantly and no longer needs hospice. In fact, with her healthy eating and new connections, I suspect she’ll be her for years to come.”
Jane recognizes here whole team for all the work they do with residents, making sure they are getting great care, nutrition, socialization and spiritual needs met daily to make their lives healthy, balanced and fulfilled.
